Essential Oils During Pregnancy
There is some division in regards to the use of essential oils during pregnancy. Unlike other oils such as coconut and olive which not only feel good but are hydrating to your skin, essential oils have very small molecules allowing it to be easily absorbed by your skin. Essential oils can be applied directly to the skin, diffused, or taken internally. It's recommended to use 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils to minimize risk. With that being said, pure oils are costly! Pure essential oils are SUPER concentrated. It takes hundreds of pounds of a plant/fruit to create an essential oil. The upside, a single bottle can last 5 years. Also, fragrance oils and essential oils are NOT the same thing. Fragrance oils are synthetic, even if it says natural synthetic. Here is a list of some young living essential oils and their benefits and uses.

Also, a great way to introduce essential oils into your regimen is by purchasing products such as soaps that contain these sought after ingredients. Pureescentials is amazing company that not only incorporates essential oils into every product, all soaps are handmade and custom orders are available.
Note: Essential oils are not meant to be heated as this destroys the healing properties in the molecules. Use a diffuser that doesn't become hot. The fragrance can be calming but you want the molecules to stay intact and permeate the blood-brain barrier when inhaled. This is essentially the difference between fragrance oils and essential oils.
